Anchors Away Sailing Charters sails monohulls, keeled sailing yachts that lean into the wind, from Skull Creek Marina at 1 Waterway Lane on the north end. After about 15 minutes of motoring out of the marina the engine goes off and the sails go up, and you can take the helm or trim a sail if you want to, or just sit back. Captain Paul, a Coast Guard licensed master captain with more than 4,000 hours under sail, is at the helm, and every sail has a captain and one crew member aboard.

Anchors Away Sails and Rates
Morning sail: two hours, usually the calmest wind, with dolphins, osprey and pelicans along the Intracoastal Waterway.
Afternoon sail: two hours in the breeziest part of the day, the one for real sailing.
Sunset sail: about two to two and a half hours, timed to the sunset.
Half-day sail: four hours, out to the ocean when the weather allows or to an anchorage for a swim. The 18% gratuity is included.
Bareboat rental and multi-day sails: a full day from 9 to 6 with your own captain, or a sail to a destination with nights aboard at the dock.
