For weddings on Hilton Head Island (Beaufort County), marriage licenses are handled by the Beaufort County Probate Court. Key requirements include:
Both applicants must appear in person to apply (no proxy, mail, phone, or fax applications).
Beaufort County has a 24-hour waiting period between application and license issuance.
Government-issued ID required (and Social Security numbers, or alien ID numbers where applicable).
