Salt Marsh Sailing is a family-owned sailing charter at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina, with one boat: Spartina, a 27-foot Stiletto catamaran that is wide and stable, with trampolines and cushions at the bow. Every sail is private, so the boat carries only your group, and the trip goes out onto Broad Creek under sail, looking for dolphins while the captain talks about the salt marsh, its wildlife and the island’s history. With no engine noise, it is the quietest way to watch dolphins from the harbour.
Salt Marsh Sailing Trips
Dolphin Day Sail: two hours, $359 for the boat, looking for dolphins, birds and other wildlife in the marsh.
Dolphin Sunset Sail: $399, the same trip timed to finish as the sun goes down over the water.
Sunset Fireworks Sail: 2½ hours on Tuesday nights from June to August, $479, a sunset sail that ends watching the HarbourFest fireworks.
