Kroger Shelter Cove, Hilton Head Island

Kroger Hilton Head, at Shelter Cove, is the supermarket most visitors in the mid-island rentals end up at: it is at Shelter Cove Towne Centre, a short drive or bike ride from Palmetto Dunes and the Shelter Cove villas, and reviewers call it the biggest grocery store on the island. It opened in December 2013, on the site of the old Mall at Shelter Cove, and it is open every day from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Groceries, Deli and Starbucks

Inside is a full-size supermarket: a big produce section, a seafood and meat counter, a Boar’s Head deli, sushi and a wide spread of prepared food, the bakery, flowers, and a large wine and beer selection. There is a Starbucks counter inside the store. To skip the aisles on arrival day, order online and collect at the store. Kroger Pharmacy and Fuel Center

The Kroger pharmacy is inside the store, with its own number, (843) 842-0550, and it keeps shorter hours than the store, so call ahead. The Kroger fuel centre is at 26 Shelter Cove Lane, in the Towne Centre; it sells diesel as well as gas, and Kroger fuel points from your grocery shop take money off a fill-up.
