Harbourside I and II are two buildings at 13 and 17 Harbourside Lane, standing on either side of the King Neptune statue at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina on Hilton Head Island. The ground floors are shops, galleries and restaurants; the 72 villas above them, on floors two to five, are owned one by one.
They are among the Shelter Cove rentals we cover, and, with Harbourside III next door, the ones in the middle of the harbour: most balconies look onto the marina, Broad Creek or the summer fireworks.
The Villas
Villas range from one-bedroom flats to larger two-bedroom units, and a few top-floor villas are two-story. Each has a private balcony. Interiors are the owners’ own, so they range from freshly renovated to original.
Living Above the Harbour
The draw and the drawback are the same thing: you are upstairs from the busiest part of Shelter Cove. The restaurants, the boardwalk, the charter docks and the stage by the harbour are an elevator ride away, and in summer there is music most evenings and fireworks on Tuesday nights. Parking is behind a gate, with a locked door through to the shops and the marina, and there is a private pool and spa with a grill area.
Getting to the Beach
The beach is across William Hilton Parkway in Palmetto Dunes. The Palmetto Dunes Buggy, the free seasonal shuttle that also serves Shelter Cove, runs guests across William Hilton Parkway to the Palmetto Dunes beach, golf and tennis. Owners share the Palmetto Dunes amenities; renters should ask whoever they book with how beach access works for guests.
Booking Harbourside I and II
Short-term rentals are allowed. Companies with Harbourside rentals include Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort and Trident Rentals, and villas are also listed on Vrbo. Each owner sets the minimum stay, and pets are for owners only, not guests.
