Anchorage Villas is a complex of 88 condos at 3 Shelter Cove Lane, in twelve two-story buildings set around two lagoons with fountains, a few minutes’ walk from Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina on Hilton Head Island. It was built in 1983, the year the marina opened.
It is one of the Shelter Cove rentals we cover, and the one that feels least like a harbour building: you look out on water and live oaks, not boats, and the music and crowds stay down at the marina.
The Villas
Most villas are two-bedroom, two-bath flats of about 1,100 to 1,150 square feet, with open living areas and a balcony over one of the lagoons. A couple of three-bedroom units add a loft up a spiral staircase. Each villa has a covered parking space and an outside storage closet.
Pool and Lagoons
The pool is heated in winter and cooled in summer, and there is a hot tub, charcoal grills and a covered seating area beside it. The lagoons with their fountains are the view from most balconies.
Getting to the Beach
The beach is about a mile away, across William Hilton Parkway in Palmetto Dunes. The Palmetto Dunes Buggy, the free seasonal shuttle that also serves Shelter Cove, runs guests across William Hilton Parkway to the Palmetto Dunes beach, golf and tennis. Owners share the Palmetto Dunes amenities; renters should ask whoever they book with how beach access works for guests.
