Bay Runner Charters has fished the waters around Hilton Head since 1970, and runs today from Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina with Captain Miles Altman and a team of guides. Every trip is private and built around what you want to catch: sheepshead and trout in the cooler months, sharks, tarpon and jack crevalle in summer, and redfish, mackerel, bluefish and cobia in between. Trips run from two hours to ten and usually start at 8 a.m.
Bay Runner Boats
Phantom: a 26-foot Pathfinder for up to four, fast and deep-hulled, which can reach the reefs up to 30 miles offshore on six- to eight-hour trips.
Fin-atic: a 26-foot boat for up to twelve, fishing Calibogue Sound for sharks and other species; the choice for families and groups, and it also runs nature and dolphin trips.
Bay Runner: a 24-foot boat for up to four that fishes water as shallow as 12 inches and can still reach the nearshore reefs.
