Urgent Care and Family Practice on Main Street

Main Street Medical is a locally owned practice on the north end of Hilton Head that works as both an urgent care clinic and a family doctor’s office. Walk-ins and appointments are both taken seven days a week. It treats adults and children, and has digital X-ray and an in-house lab, so a suspected fracture or a strep test can be handled in one visit.

It was founded by Dr. Joel Johnson III, a board-certified emergency physician, and its team of doctors and nurse practitioners also does school, sports, employment and DOT physicals, drug screens, weight-loss care and dermatology. Patients praise unhurried visits and doctors who explain clearly.

Where Main Street Medical Is

The clinic is at 93 Main Street, off William Hilton Parkway just inside the north end of the island, about five minutes from Hilton Head Plantation and Indigo Run and close to the hospital. The practice also uses a second suite across the street at 88 Main Street. Its weekend hours are shorter than weekdays, so call before driving over late in the day.
