What the Center Does
The Outpatient Surgery Center of Hilton Head is a same-day surgery center: patients have their procedure and go home the same day. Its surgeons work in ear, nose and throat, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management, general surgery, podiatry and plastic surgery, and the center does more than 7,000 procedures a year.
It opened in January 2005. It is physician-owned, an affiliate of SCA Health, accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by Medicare.
On the Day
Procedures are booked through your own doctor. Check in at the front desk with your insurance details and the name of the person driving you, and arrange a ride home before you come: you will not be able to drive yourself after anesthesia.
