Aldi on Hilton Head Island
Aldi Hilton Head is the island’s first Aldi: a freestanding store with its own parking lot at 80 Mathews Drive, on a three-acre lot in Sea Turtle Marketplace on the north end, off William Hilton Parkway. The building is finished, the sign is up and the store is hiring. Once it opens, it will be open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. Aldi’s customer line is (855) 955-2534.
When the Hilton Head Aldi Opens
Aldi says the store is on track to open in the coming months, with the date and a grand opening still to be announced. Until then, the nearest Aldi is the Aldi in Bluffton at 1131 Fording Island Road on US 278, about 10 minutes past the bridges and open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
What to Expect at Aldi
Aldi is a small discount grocer. Most of the shelves are its own brands, the choice is narrower than at a big supermarket, and the prices are low, especially on produce, dairy and cheese. Bring your own bags, and a quarter for the cart: Aldi’s carts unlock with a coin, and you get it back when you return the cart.
