Blue at the Hilton Beachfront Resort & Spa
Blue is the beachfront restaurant at the Hilton Beachfront Resort & Spa, at 1 Hotel Circle inside Palmetto Dunes. Many people still call the hotel the Hilton Head Marriott, its name before it became a Hilton. Blue is its main sit-down restaurant, open for lunch and dinner every day from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a bar, a patio and a dining room with tall windows. You do not have to be staying at the hotel to eat there.
The Blue Menu
The Blue menu at the Hilton on Hilton Head Island is American food that leans on seafood. Starters are the part people talk about: panko-crusted boom boom shrimp in Thai chili sauce, ahi tuna poke with avocado and fried wontons, coconut fried shrimp with a mandarin orange chutney, and salt and pepper calamari. There is she-crab soup, a handful of salads that take chicken, shrimp or salmon on top, and handhelds such as fish tacos, a grouper sandwich, a club and several burgers, served with fries or sweet potato fries.
At dinner the plates get bigger: a filet or New York strip, miso-glazed sea bass, braised short rib, shrimp and grits and seared salmon, plus daily specials from the kitchen. There is a kids menu, and the bar does cocktails; the strawberry margarita is the one guests mention.
