Palmetto Dunes bike rentals are the shop’s main business: beach cruisers, tandems, children’s bikes and electric bikes, with child seats, kiddie carts and baskets to go with them. Helmets are $2 a day, $6 a week or $12 a month. Bike rentals of three days or longer are delivered and picked up free, and delivery goes island-wide, though a gate fee may apply where you are staying. Bikes are the easiest way to get around the resort, because personal golf carts are not allowed inside the gate.
Beach Gear, Kayaks and Paddleboards
For the sand, the shop rents beach chairs and umbrellas by the day or week, beach wagons, jogging strollers and beach wheelchairs, plus fishing poles.
