The Moorings is a villa complex just inside the north gate of Palmetto Dunes, Hilton Head, steps from the beach. Its two-story buildings have large private decks with pool and lagoon views. It is not related to the yacht-charter company of the same name.

The Moorings is one of the Palmetto Dunes rentals we cover, and it is close to The Dunes House, the resort’s beachfront bar and grill.

The Moorings Villas

The buildings are two stories with carport-style parking and no elevators, so it is a walk-up. Villas have large private decks, WiFi and flat-screen TVs, with pool and lagoon views.

Pool and Beach Access at The Moorings

The on-site pool is open April through September, and the beach is steps away. The Dunes House is nearby for a meal on the sand.

Who Rents The Moorings and Deck Work

The resort’s own program rents The Moorings for three to seven nights or more, and independent companies list units too. The operator is replacing the decks from November through April, and warns of construction noise and disruption, so ask before booking in those months.

Palmetto Dunes is gated. Guests in a resort-managed rental get their car passes at check-in, and if you book with another company, ask how passes work before you arrive. The full rules are in the Palmetto Dunes guide.
