Singleton Beach is the public beach access at the end of Singleton Beach Road, mid-island on Hilton Head Island (HHI), serving the vacation-rental homes of Singleton Beach Place, Singleton by the Beach, and the neighboring streets around Collier Beach Road. It isn’t one of the town’s seven designated beach parks, and it doesn’t have a parking lot, restrooms, or showers of its own — but the beach itself, like every beach on Hilton Head, is public below the high-tide line, open to anyone regardless of who owns the houses around it. For a beach with a real lot and facilities close by, Burkes Beach and Driessen Beach Park are both a short drive away.

The name comes from the private communities that share this stretch of sand — Singleton Beach Place, Singleton by the Beach, the Village at Singleton Beach, and Singleton Shores Manor — oceanfront and second-row vacation homes built around Singleton Beach Road and Collier Beach Road, mid-island next to Chaplin Community Park. On the map, that puts Singleton Beach between Burkes Beach to the south and Driessen Beach Park to the north, each within a couple of miles.

Is Singleton Beach Public?

Yes. Despite sitting among private vacation homes, the beach itself — from the water to the mean high-tide line — is public, the same as every beach on Hilton Head Island. What’s private is the real estate around it, not the sand. Some online reviews and directory listings blur this by describing Singleton Beach as if it had its own restrooms, playground, or parking lot; those amenities actually belong to Burkes Beach Access and Chaplin Community Park, a short distance down the road, not to Singleton Beach itself.

Parking at Singleton Beach

There’s no parking lot at Singleton Beach itself. The nearest public option is the Town’s overflow lot for Burkes Beach Access, at 2 Castnet Drive — just off Singleton Beach Road, about 136 spaces including 4 ADA. Like the island’s other beach lots, it’s paid during peak season (March 1 through September 7, $3/hour weekdays and $5/hour weekends) and free the rest of the year, or free year-round with a resident beach parking permit. The main Burkes Beach Access lot at 35 Castnet Drive is a short walk further on.
