Alder Lane Beach Access sits off South Forest Beach Drive on Hilton Head’s south end, a short walk from the Marriott Grande Ocean Resort and not far from Sea Pines. It’s one of the island’s seven town-designated beach parks, but a much smaller one than Coligny or Driessen — a boardwalk down to the sand, without a playground or pavilion attached. The on-site lot has 22 paid spaces and 1 ADA space. During peak season (March 1 through Labor Day), metered hours run 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., at $3 an hour on weekdays and $5 an hour on weekends; parking is free the rest of the year and free year-round for residents with a beach parking permit. It’s a smaller lot than most of the island’s beach parks, so it can fill up on a clear summer morning.
