Coligny Beach Park, at 102 Pope Avenue, is the only Town beach park with free parking all year. At the other Town beach parks, parking is $3 an hour on weekdays and $5 an hour on weekends, from March 1 through Labor Day, enforced 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and paid through the Town’s phone app (cash is no longer accepted). Residents with a beach parking permit park free at every Town beach park.

The Town stations seasonal lifeguards at Alder Lane, Burkes Beach, Coligny, Driessen and Folly Field beach parks, and at Islanders Beach Park once it reopens. The official beach season, when lifeguards are on duty at the designated swim areas, runs April 1 through September 30. Fish Haul Beach Park has no lifeguards.

Yes. The Town lends free beach wheelchairs at Coligny (3), Driessen (2), Fish Haul (2) and Folly Field (2), and at Islanders (3) after it reopens. You reserve one online with a $25 refundable deposit, for up to 2 days in any 7-day period. Beach matting is installed at all of the Town’s public beach parks and accesses.

Around low tide. Low tide leaves the beach at its widest, with firm, packed sand that is easy to walk and bike on. The planner above shows the window around low tide, in daylight, for today and tomorrow.

Yes, at every public beach, but the leash rule and the hours change by season. Between the Friday before Memorial Day and Labor Day, dogs are not allowed on the beach from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is also a restricted area near Fish Haul Creek where dogs are not allowed. No. It is closed for site improvements from September 8, 2026 through May 31, 2027, and is expected to reopen on June 1, 2027. During the closure the Town points visitors to Folly Field and Driessen beach parks.
