What South Forest Beach Is Like
South Forest Beach is the half of Forest Beach that runs from Coligny Circle toward Sea Pines, along South Forest Beach Drive and the streets behind it: Lemoyne Avenue, Deallyon Avenue, Tanglewood Drive and Cordillo Parkway. It is the more built-up half, with most of Forest Beach’s villa complexes, and its Coligny end is a short walk from Coligny Beach Park and Coligny Plaza.
South Forest Beach Drive runs about a mile and a quarter from the circle to the edge of Sea Pines, so a villa at the far end is a bike ride from the plaza rather than a stroll.
South Forest Beach Villas
The South Forest Beach villas come in two kinds. On the oceanfront are complexes such as Ocean One, just past Coligny, Shorewood Villas, Ocean Club Villas and Beachwood Place. Others sit a short walk back from the sand, such as Forest Beach Villas at 10 South Forest Beach Drive, Ocean Walk on Lemoyne Avenue and Island House Villas on Deallyon Avenue.
Farther back, along Cordillo Parkway, are complexes set around pools and courts, such as Treetops, Forest Gardens and Cordillo Courts, under a mile from the beach. The prices on the cards above include taxes and fees.
Homes on the Lanes Near Sea Pines
South Forest Beach has fewer rental houses than the north side. Most are at the Sea Pines end, on short lanes named for trees and shrubs: Sea Oak, Hickory, Myrtle, Laurel, Cassina, Juniper and Bayberry Lane among them.
For a wider choice of houses, North Forest Beach, on the other side of Coligny Circle, has most of Forest Beach’s rental homes.
