The Dunes House is the oceanfront beach bar at 14 Dune House Lane in Palmetto Dunes, and it is one of the few places on the island where you can walk off the sand and sit down to lunch. It has a covered deck right at the dunes, an inside bar with tables, and an outdoor kitchen. It has been open since 2010.
The Dunes House Menu
Fish tacos are the order, and they are the dish reviewers mention over and over, along with chicken quesadillas, shrimp tacos, burgers, wraps and hot dogs. The Caesar wrap comes with melon and pineapple slices. There is beer and wine, sodas and frozen drinks, and servers keep the ice water coming on hot days. Live music plays on some afternoons. Getting In and Hours
There are no reservations, and it is casual enough that people arrive straight from the beach. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the bar open a little later, and it can close for weather, including wind. The parking lot is for Palmetto Dunes guests and property owners only. Everyone else can walk in from the beach, bike or take the free Dunes Buggy shuttle.
